Through life’s challenges, we develop resiliency, growth, and change.  Sometimes this change is difficult, and we need extra support to face our personal trials.

Christina is a Licensed Professional Counselor by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors and is a Nationally Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors.   Christina has a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University. She has also completed Level 1 Clinical Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Christina has over 18 years’ experience as a teacher, in addition to her experience as a school counselor and a private practice therapist.  Christina has a unique insight into working with adolescents and their families during times of growth and difficulty.

Christina grew up in Southern Colorado and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She also obtained her Teacher Certification in Colorado.  As a military wife, she spent several years teaching in Rhode Island with her family, until they relocated to Texas. Her service as a military spouse provides her with personal insight into the challenges of military veterans and the support their families need.

Christina’s approach includes aligning with clients to move toward their goals, while working through trauma and personal life circumstances. Christina believes in honest communication, but also respects the client’s expertise on their unique life experiences.  Christina integrates a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Family Systems Theory, Transactional Analysis, Narrative Therapy, and Bibliotherapy. Christina uses talk therapy as a primary approach of working with clients, but also uses homework assignments and writing to help clients.

In her free time, Christina enjoys running, reading, and family activities.  She spends time volunteering with her daughter’s club soccer team and community educational events and activities.
